My pups are all grown up and their personalities are as different as night and day. Oscar is a 17 pound scruffy gray dog that looks just like his DNA, a cockapoo with a few other things mixed in. Roxie, his littermate weighs in at 9 pounds and doesn’t resemble him at all. She looks like is a tiny long haired chihuahua with the personality of a lioness.
She will walk right up to a dog that is 5 times her size, so a play bow and invite it to play with her. And yet she will track a quail, focused and looking like she is ready to pounce on it, and yet she only wants to be it’s pal too. I doubt the quail has ever had a dog give it a play bow invitation before.
Oscar lumbers around like Eeyore from Winnie the Pooh, looking adorable and fluffy like a cute stuffed animal, while Roxie runs around like a crazy Tasmanian Devil. I have had them since they were 4 weeks old, after some horrible person threw them away in a cardboard box on a cold March day in Denver. All I can say is “Thank You,” for giving me the best gift I have ever received.
